Riboflavin
This is a new trio that I'm pretty darned excited about. Wheee! On bass, Michael Bates, drums, Owen Howard. We recorded a cd of my original compositions at Systems Two (just a 9 minute walk from my front door), which should be out in the world soon. The whole experience was one of the most painless and effortless experiences I've ever had in a recording studio...thanks, fellas. Here's some clips.
Past Projects
Art Bailey's Orkestra Popilar
From around 2003-2009, I led a "klezmer chamber group" called Orkestra Popilar. The band, in its last configuration, consisted of Jeremy Brown and Jake Shulman-Ment on violin, Brandon Seabrook on mandolin, Jim Guttmann on bass, and myself on accordion. We explored the repertoire of the master Romanian tsimbl player Joseph Moskowitz, and also played original music. It was a beautiful group that I'm still quite proud of.
